Major Russian Attacks Eliminate Power Throughout Kyiv

Power facilities under attack in the region
The country's energy systems have faced increased attacks in the past few days

Overnight, Russian missile and drone strikes have led to blackouts in multiple districts of Ukraine's capital, the Ukrainian capital.

A number of civilians were injured while local people in the city's east were plunged into darkness and encountered disruption to water systems, according to city officials.

Meanwhile, a minor was fatally injured in a distinct aerial attack in the Zaporizhzhia region in the southern area, based on information from regional authorities.

Moscow has increased attacks on energy facilities over recent weeks, while the country's government has called for "real steps" from partner nations to apply pressure on Moscow.

"The necessity is not superficial actions but decisive action - from the America, the EU and the G7 - in providing defensive weapons and implementing penalties," mentioned in a public message.

Officials stated that numerous aerial vehicles and several dozen missiles targeted Ukraine's energy infrastructure, describing such attacks as "premeditated" and against "essential services" as the weather cools.

Energy officials said Russia was "launching a major assault" and technical staff were striving to repair systems.

A wave of strikes hit electrical systems and residential structures in the capital.

Several of the people hurt in the attacks on the capital have been taken to hospital, per statements from local officials.

Local officials said the city came under heavy assaults overnight. A seven-year-old child was killed and three other people were injured.

The strikes follow periods of aerial attacks in the region, sections of which are currently controlled by Moscow's military.

The entire country is under warning for advanced weapon attacks, which are tougher to spot.

National leaders told journalists that Moscow was purposely seeking to demolish the national power system, with attacks already affecting energy systems.

He said energy workers and authorities were bracing for further attacks.
