The Animated Series' Showrunner Has Seen Your Season 2 Predictions — And She Has Positive Updates

The much-anticipated second season of the musical adult cartoon Hazbin Hotel arrives on the streaming platform this week, and fan speculation has been rampant.

The first season presents a diverse group of personalities residing in Hell and Heaven, sets them at odds accompanied by musical numbers about their clashes, and establishes heated competitions and emotional bonds that fuel audience devotion.

The community's expectations for the new season vary widely, but certain threads emerge over and over: Could a fan-favorite character break free from Valentino? Will we find out more about the binding agreement affecting Alastor the Radio Demon? Will [favorite character] and [other character] finally get together?

"Naturally, I don't produce the show with fan service specifically in mind," the creator commented recently. "However I feel like me being a fan of my own show implies there's a lot of it just naturally. I also want to see these things, and I want some of these things to happen, and clearly some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"

She reveals her long-term vision is for a five-season run of Hazbin Hotel. Future installments have received approval by Prime Video and A24, which finance the series.

That could imply viewers have to wait years for some of the biggest payoffs — but they could be shocked at how fast the new season moves, and how many of what they're anticipating unfolds now.

"I feel like people are going to get a lot out of it," she adds. "We get some firsts. I think we receive some really amazing disclosures, some really cool origin tales, and even basic elements, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] Audiences will experience additional musical numbers from the characters we didn't get to hear before."

She's certainly aware of the guesses and hopes about season 2 — particularly in the format of audience prediction charts.

"I've seen a couple people create a bingo card about season 2," she mentions. "Obviously I won't share it, but I've already completed a few items, and almost all of them have almost a bingo. I was like, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that leads me to believe we accomplish much [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I was like, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that brings me joy."

Hazbin Hotel the second season premieres on Prime Video on October 29.
